In einer Stadt voller Lügen Intrigen und gebrochener Versprechen zählt jede Entscheidung denn das Schicksal Gothams liegt in euren Händen.
Zwei bis vier Spielende schlüpfen in die Rollen zentraler Ermittlerinnen und Ermittler mit klaren Persönlichkeiten und eigenen Motiven. Der instinktive Journalist Warren Spacey die entschlossene Reporterin Vicki Vale der raue Detective Harvey Bullock oder die gerissene Catwoman führen euch durch ein Netz aus Hinweisen Verdächtigen und moralischen Grauzonen. Gemeinsam trefft ihr Entscheidungen verfolgt Spuren und versucht komplexe Fälle zu lösen bevor Gotham im Chaos versinkt.
Ihr besucht ikonische Orte wie die Batcave Arkham Asylum Blackgate Penitentiary oder die Gotham City Gazette und begegnet bekannten Figuren aus dem Batman Universum. Batman selbst taucht ebenso auf wie klassische Gegenspieler darunter Penguin Poison Ivy Mr Freeze und Scarecrow. Ein besonderes Highlight ist das versteckte Agenda System. Jede Rolle verfolgt geheime Ziele mit eigenen Siegbedingungen die Zusammenarbeit fördern und gleichzeitig Misstrauen säen.

Der Einstieg erfolgt über einen Prolog der behutsam mit den Regeln vertraut macht. Danach warten drei grosse Fälle mit einer Spielzeit von jeweils etwa zwei bis drei Stunden. Jeder Fall ist eigenständig spielbar doch erst das Lösen aller Szenarien enthüllt eine übergreifende Geschichte mit epischem Finale. Am Ende jedes Falls überprüft ein Abschlussbericht wie gründlich ihr ermittelt habt.
